Roux Center for the Environment

Brunswick, Maine, USA

Bowdoin College is a leader in environmental sciences and has embraced an interdisciplinary approach to academics for decades. The college desired a facility that would expand this field of study and encourage a new level of teamwork and creativity. The LEED Platinum®-certified Roux Center for the Environment serves as a teaching lab for sustainable and innovative construction technologies and features a rooftop photovoltaic array, gray water reclamation system and high-efficiency mechanical systems. The site also features a bio-swale to manage stormwater runoff.
